"Getting it done on your dancefloor!"

You have an array of choices when it comes to selecting your DJ Entertainment: hobbyist, family member, friend, amateur, and full-time professional. The reason why you have so many choices is because there are no barriers to entry. Anybody can pursue being a DJ Entertainer, but to present a great performance night after night takes passion, skill, and talent. Some of you may think that what a performer does is easy; this is only true if they are not doing it well. Packing a dance floor for an extended period of time is an advanced skill. A core quality of any DJ Entertainer is their ability to get it done on the dance floor. I’m not sure all DJ’s know how to do this.

So what WILL your guests remember about your Wedding? What vendors IMPACT your Wedding the most in terms of memories: 6 months, 1 year, and 25 years down the road? If you determine that entertainment is a priority to the success of your Wedding, reserve early and be willing to invest what it takes to guarantee your Wedding’s success.

When selecting a performer (not company), focus on their individual personality, style, and enthusiasm. If you solely base your decision on price, you will get burned either on the planning or performance side. The best performers are selfless. They understand that this day is entirely about you and your guests. Skilled and talented DJ Entertainers take what they do seriously, care about your success, and work very hard to make your visions a reality. There is a direct-correlation between how much time a performer gets to know you on a personal level & the comfort, feeling, and excitement your audience will have for you come your Wedding day.

Playing the right variety of music to involve all of your guests is essential, but the variety alone will not solely engage and connect guests without a talented Master of Ceremonies to create the mood, fun, and energy level you’d expect after just getting married. Reading a crowd and doing it successfully is an ART. To have the skill and talent to put playlists together on the fly and have them work is an advanced skill.

We’ve all heard how “bad DJ’s” were from venues, brides, and friends. The number #1 complaint is that “nobody danced”, “they played lousy music”, and “didn’t know what they were doing.” Read bridal magazines, talk to brides (past and present), talk to brides’ parents. They are concerned and frightened about getting a DJ Entertainer that will ruin their event.

For your Wedding, you expect a full dance floor, quality entertainment, and an emcee that has the skill, talent, and training (theater, dance, acting, improvisation, voice, stage presence, etc.) to become your spokesperson on the biggest day of your life.

All my best,
